So I tried this, shamelessly copying you. Though I didn't have time to finish, I can see how it works, and it would be good for some things, like finishing touches. But generally speaking, I find closed shapes with fills are easier and quicker. I tried this technique on something else, and when I tried to expand the overall design, the individual paint strokes didn't expand with it. To correct what I said yesterday, a shape doesn't have to be fully closed. e.g. a U shape can be filled. The fill acts like the shape is closed. But for flood-fill (which I seldom use), it must be fully closed or it overflows.
