Do you need a master ball to catch Mewtwo? - Answers

No, you don't NEED a Master Ball to catch ANY of the Pokemon. It is entirely up to you which one you use it on. However, MewTwo is one of the ones that you should consider saving it for. Since you didn't indicate which game you are playing, it's difficult to answer your question. If you are playing Gold/Silver/Crystal or HG/SS then I would suggest saving the MB for one of the 3 legendaries (Entei, Raikou, & Suicune) being that they run away so easily. Except for Suicune, the other 2 are roaming and run like mad, it can be very frustrating if you don't just get lucky on a first throw ultra ball. You need a pkmn with the move FALSE SWIPE that will always leave the opponent with AT LEAST 1 HP and is essential for catching difficult pkmn! You can catch Mewtwo with an ultra ball, but it's very difficult to whittle its HP down, and will take a long time. If you have lvl85 charizard holding leftovers and the moves:(flamethrougher, cut, blast burn, and dragon claw) then try attacking it in this order (carry 40 ultraballs at least) try 1st flamethrougher then dragon claw then cut. Only when the HP is in the red should you start hucking ultra balls at it. A dusk ball should work better if it is night or if you are in a cave because when you are in a cave or its night the dusk ball has a *4 probability of catching a Pokemon whereas ultra ball has a *2 probability anytime worked much better for me
