12 Years at Dcode Group – Thanks for the Reminder, LinkedIn! - Blog - DCODE GROUP

<p>This time of year, LinkedIn reminds me of my work anniversary, marking the moment I started Dcode Group. Each year, it's an opportunity to reflect on what we've built and the team we've grown into. I started Dcode Group out of a love for creating custom software solutions. Back then, working in the financial sector, we struggled to find software for our business valuations&mdash;so we built it. That one solution allowed us to scale our operations and replicate our processes effectively. I was hooked. Identifying workflow pain points, planning tailored solutions, and seeing the results was both challenging and deeply rewarding. I knew I wanted to do this for other businesses, and so Dcode Group was born.</p> <p><img src="https://cdn.dcodegroup.com/blog-images/67525ffc86cf8.jpg" alt="" width="2700" height="2025" /></p> <p>Starting without an agency background meant the journey took time. I wasn't known as a software developer, and it took a while to establish myself in the field. But that also gave me a unique perspective. With a background in accounting, financial analysis, and consulting, I approached software development differently&mdash;and that became our point of difference.</p> <p>In the early days, there was skepticism about custom software. Many businesses considered it risky, preferring off-the-shelf solutions instead. I often heard: "We can't be that unique; someone must have built this already." For a while, I understood their hesitation. But over the years, I've seen the true value of custom software. When done right, it's an incredible tool that empowers businesses, startups, and corporations alike. And we've proven that time and again.</p> <p>Today, Dcode Group is a team of nearly 25 professionals spread across three continents, including developers, DevOps engineers, designers, business analysts, and account managers. As our team has grown, so has our skillset, confidence, and capability. Together, we're improving the way we work, code, and grow as a team. Some who initially turned away from custom solutions have returned after experiencing the limitations of off-the-shelf products.
