How do you cook things with a furnace in minecraft? - Answers

You cant cook but you can smelt. When you right click it, a screen will appear. Put either wood, (any wood but no wood planks or sticks) or coal in the bottom box. then put an ore (ex. Diamond ore, Gold ore, Iron Ore, Emerald Ore...) in the top box. an arrow will slowly fill to the side, pointing at a box. When the arrow is finished, the result will be inside that box (ex. Diamond, Gold Ingot, Iron Ingot, Emerald...). If you place more than 1 ore, when one is finished, it will automatically start smelting the next until the fuel is out. The fuel is marked by a flame which slowly decreases. when it decreases completely, the ores will stop smelting right where they are and will start again when more fuel is added. the best fuel is coal. If you put wood in the top box, coal will result. Or, if you find clay, put clay in the furnace instead of an ore. when finished, a brick will result. 4 bricks in a square will make a brick block.
