Like many of you, I'm a brand new empty nester having sent my last two kids to college this month. I've been preparing myself for this moment for years, but now faced with the reality of the situation I have put together some hopefully helpful thoughts about how to not only survive, but thrive in this unique life transition. I'm not going to tell you all the reasons why an empty nest is great and rosy- even though that is also true! Today I'm focusing on some of the difficult moments and recognizing that this can be truly painful at times, and sharing some thoughts that have helped me to feel less alone, at least so far!
