Spring Garden Bandstand, by Mike T. Kerr

Spring Garden Bandstand by Mike T. Kerr, released 26 September 2020 1. Spring Garden Bandstand 2. Rusty Red Racer 3. It Had to be You 4. Mason School for the Blind 5. Space for Spencer 6. Grampy 7. Three Whole Years 8. Peacekeeper's March 9. Glory River 10. It Had to be You (Alternate Take) 11. Rusty Red Racer (Alternate Take) This album has taken quite a journey already just to get this far, I am so excited to see it through to arriving at your front door. It's journey started just like my first album's journey, though: I asked Dylan Jewers to come to New Scotland Yard with me, we got Thomas Stajcer on the console, and started pulling guitars and amps off the wall. If you would like this solo guitar album on vinyl, please order that here, having an idea of the numbers ahead of time will really help me get organized and get this sweet little record in your hands. The vinyl master has been prepared by Jamie Sitar, one of the best to play the game, and I'm so excited for my first vinyl release! Before going into the studio, I came up with the idea to highlight a Maritime guitar player on this solo album, kind of like a feature. The idea was just to bring them in on a tune or two, collaborate, improvise, and have that outside voice shine through a bit. Making a list of possibilities was no issue, guitar in the Maritimes is a rich tradition and a heady hall of fame. After brooding over which direction to go in with this idea though, a name I hadn't written down yet jumped out and immediately made the most sense of any of them.. Terra Spencer. Having her colourful and sentimental playing in the middle of this album brings so much joy to me and this whole project. As this became more and more a musical tribute to my grandfather Dan Leeman, it features a composition of his "the Peacekeeper's March," Terra offered her own tribute to her guitar-slinging grandfather with her tune 'Grampy," the only tune on the album featuring two guitars. Thank you to all the early supporters and listeners who have encouraged the growth of this album. It's a privilege to share my music with all of you.
