How do you solve overheating of a 1967 Pontiac? - Answers
This really needs a lot more info...but I can attempt to give you some places to start. Pontiacs are well known for running on the hot side. Especially if they have been bored for a rebuild. First, make sure your cooling system is in good working order. Run at least a 3 core radiator. Are you running a fan shroud? You should be. Aftermarket flex fans look cool but have no place on a street driven car. Find a good 7 blade factory fan and run a temp/rpm sensitive fan clutch. Make sure the divider plate and water pump sleeves are in good order also. Most gasket kits come with the rubber gaskets for the sleeves. If all this checks out, you could have a blown head gasket. This should give you a place to start. Good luck.
