Hackney Siren (Extended Mix) Above & Beyond release the ‘Tranquility Base Vol. 2’ EP, a collection of five instrumental club anthems that fuse elements from across the electronic music spectrum. During a busy year of worldwide shows, including Brazil, Canada, UK and the US, the GRAMMY-nominated founders of Anjunabeats, Jono, Paavo and Tony have been hard at work in the studio on their next volume. The name of the EP series references A&B’s beloved Tranquility Base alias, which was revered for its contribution to the trance genre, including iconic records such as ‘Surrender’, ‘Oceanic’ and ‘Razorfish’. Following the enormous success of Volume 1 last year, Above & Beyond are back with the second set of five club-dominating instrumental records. Above & Beyond’s ‘React’, the bassline-heavy single from ‘Tranquility Base Vol. 2’, was released on 1 November. The second single, a euphoric classic trance track titled ‘Another Breakdown’, was released on 20 November. Debuted at Above & Beyond Group Therapy 600 in Mexico City to an audience of 14,000, and recently heard at Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Dreamstate SoCal, the full EP is here. It features three additional tracks: ‘Hackney Siren’, an electric melting pot of trance, acid and breakbeat, layered with piano chords reminiscent of 90s piano house; ‘From Grey To Light’, another experimental production from the trio featuring trippy acid baselines and layers of piano chords, and ‘Chasing Highs’, a classic trance track that delivers a sound reminiscent of the early 2000s club era. ‘Tranquility Base Vol. 2’ EP is out now on Anjunabeats.
